We are starting a new section of this site, as we want to see photos of you and The Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Places at the places you visit. If you venture to see the hellhounds of Carryville or the ghost of Witch Road, or where ever else, we want to see you there with the guide.
Have fun, Chad

Gee, I wish I would have known, I would have had someone take more pictures of me at the locations that I've been! Oh well, the only one I have right now is of me standing in the intersection at Chicken Alley. But next week we are going to spend the week looking for that wascally werewolf from Bray road! While down in southeastern Wisconsin area, I plan on checking out a few places from your website, and yes, Your book will be coming along for the ride as well! I'll have to remember to get my ugly mug into a few of those pictures! LOL [glow=green,2,300]~Leapin~[/glow]

Hey Chad, You asked for pictures with your book, and here is some more! This last weekend we took our second trip up to Plainfield with more information on where Ed Gein's grave was. We found it in no time at all! Maybe 3 to 5 minutes after entering the cemetery! This is a picture of me between Ed's unmarked grave and his mother's headstone. (I'm the one that put the red plastic flowers on his grave) You can see your book leaning up against his mother's headstone. Also, using your book, and a map of Plainfield that I got off of the Internet, We also visited his property. I was hoping to walk around a little and take some readings in the spot where that picture of the ORB was taken that is on your website, but when I got there, there was a car and a truck parked in the driveway, and I noticed that there was a trailer with a outhouse in back of the property! It looked kinda like a deer hunting shack to me. Then suddenly off in the distance I could hear gunshots! Knowing how the locals feel about outsiders, I quickly took a few pictures of the gate (The two poles with the chain) and got the hell outta there! I'm guessing that maybe it was relatives of the person who originally bought the property or maybe the property was sold? Im not sure. Was the trailer there the last time you where there? Also, While up in the Plainfield area, We stopped at the Spiritland cemetery. Now I can tell you that when I was talking to you at the last conference in Oct, I was wrong! The big Spiritland gate is still there! The first time I was in Almond, we didn't have a location on where the cemetery was, and your book was not out yet, so we just drove around the town looking for the graveyard. The one that I found the firstime was this little unnamed graveyard on the outskirts of the town. But it did have the holes in the ground that gave me the impression that a gate and a fence was there at one time! Thats where I made the mistake! Following the directions in your book, we learned that the Spiritland cemetery is actually located halfway between Almond and Plainfield, and not in the town of Almond at all! Well at least now I can actually say that I have been there, and here is my picture for proof! LOL BTW, I know it's hard to see, but that is your book that I'm holding! Hi Leapin, Your in my old stomping grounds!Right acrossed the street, the old store building I know a lot about...Lots of memories there and me and my brothers used to sit in the cemetary and tell stories....The area behind that cemetary really has some cool land scaping. Just down the road me and a friend saw a Bob Cat cross the road and there also was a State historian doing work in the area and found the bacement of a old building where he found money in the wall. Did you stop at the Cemetary just down the road from there on the side road? If you cross the field, go through the swampy place if you make it ,you will be in another cematary. This one is a cool hidden one down by the Land of lakes Supper Cub! I don't even know if they are still open. Nice pictures!

wow, Einstein, you live near Plainfield!!??
I had stayed at the flower farm across the highway, back in the 1970's... Ed's old neighbor. That is how I originally heard about him.
I am guessing you know the ppl, or of the ppl who had/have lived there? I lost contact with them years ago, but wonder if I was to take a road trip, would I stop and visit, woudl they remember me? The HAD visiting privilages of Ed, when he was at Mendota. And due to them, with that privilage, that is how I almost was able to go visit and meet him... 1984. Ed had died a few months later, after I had planned on going and chickened out...
For ~Leapin~ -- nice pics! I want to see this cemetary so bad! It's just that it is a long way to go by myself, and not get lost and not find myself *laughs* . Maybe some day, I hope... (so, har far of a drive was it from your GBay area? I forget what kind of timing it was, from the old 4-H exchange trips I was on, when I went there).

From Green Bay, we took 41 down to Oshkosh, 21 to Wautona, and then 73 up to Plainfield. All in all, it took us about 2 hours. Not bad at all. With the pictures that I had with, (I downloaded them off the net), It only took about five minutes to find his grave once we entered the cemetery. And then about ten minutes to find his property. This gave us enough time to stop at Clark's True Value hardware store to buy a souvenir flashlight. Afterwrds, we stopped at this nice little restaurant (I can't remember the name) and got a burger for lunch.
(I wonder if Ed ever ate there?)

Well, ~Leapin~, I cannot see if you are smiling or not, about the pretty little fence that will now have to make us all stay away from that wonderful place?
I was there last week with a friend who had never seen the place before, or heard much.... (imagine that)
The fence, well, it ruins the effect, I think. What do you say?

Personally, I kinda like the fence! It has a old feel to it, almost western, and with the age of the building, it seems like it should have always been there. Much nicer than a plain old metal cyclone fence like the one that used to be around the hotel. As for keeping us out, ya, that part sucks! But remember, if it wasn't for all the "Johny Goodfernothings" that trespassed just to party inside the building, Smash the walls, and spray paint everything, the owners wouldn't come down so hard on the rest of us who just want to stand outside the building and take pictures!

I am glad you like the fence at Hotel Hell. That is just grand!
So, when are you going to ask for permission to go on premises and look and lurk?
I woudl like to. And watch the answer be a flat out "No."
Did you notice that Lyman is a member on here? No posts, no nothing...
And ~Leapin~, nice site! I signed up. Watch me forget if I have .'s or no .'s in my ID. It's been a head spinning month...

I have been to Riverside Cemetery twice in the past few weeks, as I was in the Appleton area, or thru it for another reason.
Without the book -- I would have never found Kate Blood's grave stone/family plot. As distanced as what it is, and as the drive ways twist and turn... it was hard enough the way it was. And then for the detail the book had provided... volia! We were there...
If I ever figure out how to successfully have a picture uploaded I might put one here. The spring greens there are just awesome! Probably one of the most "alive cemeteries" I have seen in a long time!
Thanks, guys, for creating this wonderful book... it makes finding places so much easier!
