Merry Christmas, all! I hope your day is merry and bright!
EDIT: I guess this thread deviated from Wisconsin Ghosts. So, I hope all Wisconsin Ghosts have a great Christmas too. It's all about the [glow=red,2,300]Ghost of Christmas Past[/glow], right?

Just a correction on that last comment above mine -- the nursing home is still open and going... they built other divisions of it, in building clusters down and around the block. The old part is being taken down, and if you look closely, you can see where they are already building the new part that will replace it.
I am a city resident here, and I have to drive past daily with my errands, so it's intruiging to watch. But it's not that the nursing home is going no where. They are just keeping up with the Jones' and Smith's...

We sit and don't move much ,we sit and just watch and wait.. And b very very quite.. That's what it's all about at times... sitting and watching and waiting... Since I am a stickler on this, were you people (CJM) unscented? When I go to cemeteries, I am totally unscented so I can smell the odors and smells that are around there. When I was there in the Fall a few years ago, I could smell lilac heavily, and there was already a light snowfall, so the smell of lilacs would have been out of season and impossible.

The building is in rough shape. I was in there many of times, as for the type of service/work I did, when the company was active... The last time I was in there, the building was cleared out, and it was on the realestate block. No reputation of haunting, from the locals, but... the vandals have destroyed parts of this building over time. Does anyone know if the Mirro Cookware Foundry in Manitowoc, Wisconsin is haunted at all or any alleged activity? My dad lives 2 blockes from the massive 7 story, 4 city block now abandoned factory. It would be heaven to any urban explorer! It was built in 1929 ( some older parts were built late 1800's ) and shut down in 2003 when the Mirro company moved to Mexico for cheaper worker's. I am an urban explorer and have gotten permission to go inside and might be going inside in a couple of weeks Here is a pic. Of the massive factory www.edcmc.org/img/sidebar/1512WashingtonSt.jpg

Thanks, CJM.
Raven, why not private message someone if you need to, but cluttering the boards like this is annoying and un-necessary. This site/boards are not about who has the most postings... And you asked about why people are bashing you on your age? It's not the age. It's the way the postings are done. And it's the text typing that is hard to read and annoying.
There are other people on this site, they might be young or educated or not as educated, but they post appropriately.
I will hope that this thread continues being on Dartford, and not a young person posting not appropriately.

Carol -- Some of these places do not allow people in. You have to park in the ditch or on the street.
Evergreen Hotel is a fine place, but now... basically off limits. Sometimes Evergreen does have open house, though...
And now I will wonder, why is this thread here, and not under Wisconsin Ghosts? It would be easier to find months later there...

Library would be a good resource, and the ones in your city are incredible.
How about a historical society as well? We have one in our city that is to kill for... I would be so lost without it!
Let me know what you find out, okay?

Just a thought here, but since Riverside and St. Joseph's go hand in hand... right next to each other, and with St. Joseph's being a Catholic cemetery... that could be the reasoning.
Hello Kitty, do you know any Appleton Catholic religious order members well enough to ask them what they know? A priest or nun who has been there forever and ever might be an excellent source of information!

The Conkey plot... it's near where you would have to park to go to Kate Blood's plot. Cold spots there... but that could be shrugged off as for sun spots and trees and huge stones not far... I guess if I check temps, it's always 4 or 5 degrees cooler... That I have ran into.
The comment about the Road Guide, it's just a good book in general. That is what I meant. For someone who has not been there before, that guide tells them exactly where to go. That comment was for in general, not a comment just to you. Okay?
I wonder if Chad or Terry know anything about the Rock Domes?

Hello Kitty-- do you have the Unexplained Research Road Guide (that is sold, this site owner's authored book)? There is good information in the book on how to find Kate Blood's grave plot, and other information worth reading... Same on many other places in this state. Click here: www.unexplainedresearch.com/books/wisconsin_road_guide_to_haunted_locations.html for the page. That would be for the Wisconsin book, alone... My own thoughts on the book? If you don't have it... get it. Keep it in the car for when you are around the state, so you can make a drive by! It's great! I have one in the car... and one on my book shelf. Both signed, and purchased at one of the Unexplained Research Conferences that was held right after the book came out...

I have been there many of times. Meaning the Oshkosh Riverside. It's a nice, clean cemetery. Some of Wisconsin's big name people are buried there. An actress from the early 1900's, a few governers, and much more. As for it's size, you could spend hours there, and not see it all. I've had a little activity there, nothing harmful. Just good days there... It's probably the biggest cemetery I have been to in my life. But this thread is on the Appleton Riverside Cemetery, where Kate Blood's family plot it. It's an awesome cemetery. There are other threads on this board for that one -- search it. It's probably a good idea to note on that one, and keep all Riverside/Appleton comments there, and Riverside/Oshkosh ones on an Oshkosh thread, so this site does not get too scrambled. Look under Wisconsin Ghosts... years ago on this site, there was much information on Riverside/Appleton. It's still on this site!

Well, Raven... it appears that we are not 15 or so. Notice many of us have been around longer. We probably know of others first hand that had bad experiences (and not just someone from a website or TV show). Or perhaps we even once had been near a board and had an experience or two, years ago?
For much of it, you might learn over time, too. Maybe you would even learn the hard way?
And if you do, don't forget to note us here and let us know... okay?

DarkOne, I side with you... It's not worth it, to take a chance... they can be horrible things and they can be harmless..definately not worth the gamble...

Why not check with a local courthouse or city hall, historical society. A city library. In my county, I can go to a historical society and read newspaper articles, search out the history of a property, and see pictures that have been on file for 100 years... if the info is there.
For a business like that, something has to exist, I would think.
